What did my candle smell like?

As soon as I spied this candle at Walmart, I knew I was going to like it. I love everything pineapple and first sniff was sweet and promising.

Here is the scent description I found off Walmart's website:

Indulge in this mouthwatering fruit medley as fresh pineapple, honeydew melon and lemon zest are touched with accents of coconut milk, kiwi, cantaloupe, vanilla bean and creamy colada.

Wow, that's quite the description and sounded perfect since I love pretty much everything in that description. Cold sniff, I mostly smelled pineapple with hints of coconut… maybe a touch of kiwi but it was hard to tell. I was hoping everything else in the description would come to life once the candle was burning.

Time to find out!

I lit this candle in a small powder room (my room of choice) for Better Homes and Gardens candles where it performed perfect. This brand of candles burns really slow so it took a good hour before I really started noticing the scent. Once I did… I smelled a sweet and fruity pineapple – I liked it. As far as the rest of the description… I still wasn't detecting all those elements, it really just smelled like pineapple to me. Regardless, it was still a nice and fruity scent and I enjoyed it. It's also hard to complain about these candles when the price is so inexpensive.

Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle a 5. It wasn't very strong but still gave a nice medium throw in a small room. Anything larger and the fragrance would have been lost.

How did my candle burn?

My candle burned pretty good. It took hours to reach a full melt pool with each lighting but once it did, the candle burned even and clean with no wasted wax. I did have to keep up in wick trimming each day but that's pretty normal.

Closing to my review:

I liked this candle… it was a fun and fruity scent and I will probably purchase it again. It was a nice and sweet pineapple and it fragranced my little bathroom perfectly. Better Homes and Gardens candles are lightly scented so if you decide to give this scent a try, I would stick to burning it in a small room.

These candles are so reasonably priced… it's hard not giving into temptation… especially if you're on a budget. Watch for more reviews on this Thumbs up candle brand… more are coming.
